A sharp picture is one of the first things people notice about Moa TV. Most channels stream in Full HD (1080p), and selected channels, events and on-demand titles stream in 4K (2160p). Here’s what you need to see the difference.
Full HD, 4K and HD: the difference
| Quality | Resolution | Typical speed needed |
|---|---|---|
| HD | 720p | 10 Mbps |
| Full HD | 1080p | 20 Mbps |
| 4K Ultra HD | 2160p | 35 Mbps or more |
These are steady speeds per stream, not your package’s headline number. Wi-Fi in another room can deliver much less than your plan promises. Test your speed on the TV itself, or read how much speed you need for IPTV.
What you need for 4K
- A 4K TV connected with a high-speed HDMI cable, in a 4K-capable HDMI port.
- A 4K streaming device, such as a Fire TV Stick 4K Max (Fire OS), a Google TV Streamer or another 4K Android TV box. Built-in apps on 4K smart TVs also work.
- A steady connection of 35 Mbps or more. Ethernet is best; on Wi-Fi, use 5 GHz and keep the router close.
- The 4K version of the channel. Where a channel is offered in 4K, it appears as a separate entry, often marked 4K or UHD.
Getting the best picture
- Match the frame rate. In TiviMate Premium, turn on Auto frame rate so sport and films play without judder.
- Set the device’s output to 4K in its display settings.
- Don’t force 4K on a busy connection; a smooth Full HD stream looks better than a stuttering 4K one.
4K questions
Is 4K included in every plan?
Yes. Where 4K streams are available, they’re included in every plan.
Why does a 4K channel stutter on my device?
Usually the connection or the device. Try Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi, restart the device, and check it supports 4K HEVC video. If Full HD plays smoothly but 4K doesn’t, your connection is the likely limit.
Can I watch 4K on a phone?
Phones play the stream, but you won’t see a real difference on a small screen. Save 4K for the TV.
