TiviMate, with the free Premium activation included in every Moa TV plan, runs on Android TV, Google TV and Fire TV devices. Not all of them are equal, though: storage, processor speed and 4K support make a real difference to how smooth the TV guide feels. Here’s what we recommend.

What makes a good TiviMate device

  • Android TV, Google TV or Fire OS. TiviMate isn’t available elsewhere.
  • 4K and HEVC support, if you have a 4K TV.
  • At least 2 GB of memory, so the guide scrolls smoothly with large channel lists.
  • Enough storage for the app, the guide data and, if you record, a USB port or plenty of space.
  • Ethernet or fast Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi 6 helps; a wired connection is best for live sport.
  • Regular updates from a known brand.

Google TV Streamer

Google’s streaming box runs TiviMate straight from the Google Play Store, supports 4K, and has an Ethernet port for steady live sport. Because TiviMate is in the Play Store, there’s no sideloading and no worry about future system changes.

NVIDIA Shield TV Pro

Older, but still one of the fastest Android TV devices you can buy. Its USB ports make it ideal for recording with TiviMate Premium, and it handles very large channel lists with ease.

Fire TV Stick 4K Max

A popular, affordable stick that runs TiviMate well, installed with the Downloader app. Check that it runs Fire OS: newer Fire TV Sticks are moving to Vega OS, which can’t install TiviMate. See Fire TV and Vega OS.

Fire TV Cube

Faster than the sticks, with Ethernet built in. A good choice if you like the Fire TV interface and want a more powerful box.

TVs with Google TV built in

Many Sony, TCL, Hisense and Philips TVs run Google TV. They install TiviMate from the Play Store with no extra box, although cheaper models can feel slower than a dedicated streamer.

Devices to avoid for TiviMate

  • Vega OS Fire TV Sticks, such as the Fire TV Stick 4K Select and the 2026 Fire TV Stick HD.
  • Uncertified Android boxes with modified software and no Play Store. They’re often slow and rarely get security updates.
  • Samsung (Tizen), LG (webOS) and Roku TVs on their own: TiviMate doesn’t run on them. Add one of the devices above. See smart TVs.

Setting up your new device

Once you have your device, follow the TiviMate Premium guide, then add your Moa TV login. Most people are watching within ten minutes.

Questions

Do I need a 4K device?

Only if you have a 4K TV and want to watch 4K channels. A Full HD device is fine on a Full HD TV.

Is a streaming stick as good as a box?

Sticks are great value. Boxes are usually faster, with more storage and Ethernet built in, which helps with large channel lists and recording.

Can I use TiviMate Premium on all my devices?

On up to five devices signed in to your TiviMate account.
