TiviMate Premium, activated free with every Moa TV plan, has several settings that make live sport noticeably smoother and easier to follow. These are the ones we recommend changing first.
1. Turn on auto frame rate
Sport is broadcast at different frame rates depending on the country and the broadcaster. If your device’s output doesn’t match, fast action looks juddery.
- Go to Settings → Playback and turn on Auto frame rate.
- Your TV may blank for a second when a channel starts as it switches mode. That’s normal.
2. Choose a larger buffer
A larger buffer means TiviMate keeps a few more seconds of video in reserve, so short dips in your connection don’t pause the picture.
- Go to Settings → Playback → Buffer size and choose a larger value.
- The trade-off is a small extra delay behind live, which is rarely noticeable.
3. Build a sports favorites group
Scrolling through thousands of channels on match day wastes time.
- Highlight a sports channel, press and hold OK on the remote, and add it to favorites.
- Add the Full HD and 4K versions of the channels you watch most, so you have a backup.
- Use the favorites group as your starting point on match days.
4. Use reminders
Find a match in the TV guide, select it and set a reminder. TiviMate alerts you when it’s about to start, and can switch to the channel for you.
5. Record the games you can’t watch live
With Premium you can record from the guide, including scheduled and recurring recordings.
- Plug a USB drive into devices with a USB port, or use a device with plenty of storage, and set it as the recording location.
- A Fire TV Stick has little storage, so record short programs or use a USB OTG adapter with a drive.
6. Multi-view for big match days
Multi-view shows several channels on screen at once. Each window is a separate stream, so you need one connection on your Moa TV line for each game. Ask us about extra connections if you want to use it.
7. Choose the right version of a channel
When a channel is offered in 4K and Full HD, choose 4K only if your TV, device and connection can handle it: 35 Mbps or more, ideally over Ethernet. See 4K and FHD streaming.
