Big games are when everyone watches at once, which puts more pressure on every part of the stream, including your home network. A few minutes of preparation makes a real difference. Here’s our match-day routine.

The day before

  • Find the channel in the guide. Open the TV guide and search for the match, so you know which channel shows it and when it starts.
  • Note a backup channel. Big events are often shown on more than one channel, or in Full HD and 4K versions. Add both to your favorites.
  • Set a reminder in TiviMate Premium so you don’t miss kickoff.
  • Update TiviMate and your device’s software, so nothing asks to update at the wrong moment.

An hour before kickoff

  1. Restart your streaming device to clear its memory.
  2. Test the channel for a minute or two.
  3. Connect with a cable if you can. On Wi-Fi, use 5 GHz and keep the device in sight of the router.
  4. Pause big downloads on other devices: game updates, cloud backups and large file transfers.
  5. Check nobody else is using your line. A standard Moa TV line plays on one screen at a time.

During the match

  • If the picture pauses, don’t keep switching channels. Give it a few seconds; constant switching can make things worse.
  • If a 4K stream stutters, switch to the Full HD version of the channel.
  • If one channel has a problem, move to your backup channel.
  • Missed a goal? On channels with catch-up, scroll back in the guide and replay it.

Watching more than one game

TiviMate Premium’s multi-view shows several channels on screen at once, which is perfect for the final round of a league season. Each tile is a separate stream, so your line needs one connection for each game you play at the same time. Contact us about extra connections before the big day.

After the match

Recorded the game with TiviMate Premium? Recordings stay on your device or USB drive until you delete them. Catch-up programs on supported channels stay available for a set number of days.
